Travelling By Car

Yes — all vehicles that plan to park on site require a valid parking pass.
Parking is pre-book recommended. Limited parking tickets may be available on arrival subject to availability.

Travelling By Train and/or Shuttle Bus

Chippenham is the closest train station to GemFest.
Shuttle buses will operate between Chippenham Station and the festival site throughout the event.
Shuttle bus tickets must be purchased in advance as a separate add-on ticket. Please ensure you purchase the correct departure time before travelling.

Important Information
Shuttle bus tickets must be purchased in advance.

Arrive at the shuttle bus pickup point at least 20 minutes before departure.

Return services operate on a first come, first served basis.
During peak periods, delays may occur due to traffic and customer demand.
We strongly recommend allowing extra time if connecting to onward train services from Chippenham Station.

We strongly encourage customers to avoid bringing single-use items wherever possible and help us reduce unnecessary waste across the festival site.
Please only bring equipment, camping gear and belongings that you intend to take home with you after the festival.
Any reusable or unwanted camping equipment can be donated to our local charity partner on departure from the festival on Monday. Donation points will be clearly signposted exit.

Festival Management reserves the right to move tents, gazebos or equipment if they obstruct emergency access routes.

GemFest is committed to protecting the beautiful grounds of Charlton Park Estate and we ask all attendees to help us leave the site exactly as we found it.
Please take all your belongings and rubbish home with you, including:

Chairs
Camping equipment
Gazebos
Any other items you bring to site
Abandoned equipment cannot usually be recycled and often ends up in landfill.
Please make use of the bins and recycling points provided throughout the festival and respect the land, wildlife and surrounding environment at all times.
Keeping your campsite tidy throughout the weekend helps create a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone.
Any reusable or unwanted camping equipment can be donated to our local charity partner when leaving the festival on Monday. Donation points will be clearly signposted across the campsites.

GemFest operates as a fully cashless event. All bars, traders and festival-operated outlets accept card and contactless payments only.
We recommend bringing a payment card or ensuring your mobile payment method (such as Apple Pay or Google Pay) is set up before arriving on-site.
Please note that cash cannot be accepted at bars, traders, shuttle buses or festival-operated facilities.

The Welfare Area is located within the arena, approximately 30 metres to the left of the Information Point and Merchandise Tent.
It will be clearly signposted on-site and marked on the festival map available through the Woov app.
If you ever need support during the event, please do not hesitate to visit the Welfare Team. Whether you’re feeling unwell, overwhelmed, vulnerable or simply need somewhere quiet to take a moment, the team are there to help.

Before heading into the festival, we recommend agreeing a meeting point with your group in case you become separated.
Mobile signal can become limited during busy periods, so having a pre-arranged meeting point can save a lot of stress later in the day.
If you need assistance locating a vulnerable member of your group, please speak to our Stewards, Welfare or Security teams.

GemFest operates a zero-tolerance policy on illegal drugs, including nitrous oxide. Searches will be in place. Anyone found in possession will be evicted and may be referred to police.

Rules & Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly prohibited anywhere on-site:
Illegal drugs, nitrous oxide and any psychoactive substances
Paint spray cans, permanent markers or other items intended for graffiti or vandalism
Knives or bladed articles (including locking knives)
Glass bottles or containers (except small make-up or perfume bottles)
Fireworks, explosives, flares, smoke canisters, gas canisters and air horns
Weapons, imitation weapons or anything that could reasonably be considered an offensive weapon
Laser devices or laser pens
Large or professional sound systems, PA equipment, subwoofers or similar audio setups
Gas stoves, barbecues or any type of gas canisters
Generators or chemical toilets (except fixed units within approved live-in vehicles)
Sky lanterns, paraffin lamps or candles
Drones, UAVs or remote-controlled devices
High-visibility clothing or tabards unless authorised by the festival
Payment systems such as PDQ or EPOS devices
Animals, except registered assistance dogs which must be declared in advance to the Access Team
Any prohibited items may be confiscated and festival management reserves the right to refuse entry where necessary.

Yes — alcohol may be brought into the campsite on first entry only.
The maximum allowance per person is:
10 x 440ml cans of lager, cider or beer, OR
12 x 250ml cans of premixed spirits, OR
1 x 3-litre box of wine
Please note:
Spirits and hard liquor are not permitted
Glass bottles are not permitted
Alcohol cannot be taken into the arena
Alcohol may not be brought back into the festival after leaving the site

Customers may bring reasonable quantities of food for personal consumption within the campsites.
Cooking equipment is not permitted on-site. Please refer to the Camping Information section for further details.
