Our Home:

Charlton Park Estate

GemFest takes place within the beautiful grounds of Charlton Park Estate, just outside the historic market town of Malmesbury in Wiltshire.

Steeped in history dating back to the late 16th century, the Estate spans over 4,500 acres of parkland, farmland and woodland, centred around a Grade I listed mansion. It is a location known for balancing heritage and nature with carefully managed, world-class events.

What is GemFest?

GemFest began as something simple and personal — Gemma’s 21st birthday party.

What started as a one-off celebration with friends quickly evolved into an annual gathering. Over time, that birthday grew into something much bigger: a community-driven festival built around connection, music and celebration.

Today, GemFest is proudly known as “the world’s biggest birthday party for Gemma” — a weekend where thousands come together to celebrate life, music and togetherness in a safe, welcoming and well-managed environment.

While we have grown, the heart of GemFest remains the same:

  • Community first

  • Respect for the land

  • Celebration done responsibly

We understand that hosting an event of this scale carries responsibility. This page exists to provide clarity, reassurance and transparency for local residents and partners.

Our Commitment

to the Local Community

Supporting Local Businesses

Where possible, we prioritise:

  • Local suppliers and contractors

  • Wiltshire-based traders

  • Local crew and temporary staff

  • Local accommodation providers

Our aim is for GemFest to positively contribute to the regional economy.

Environmental Responsibility

We work closely with the Estate and our operational teams to ensure:

  • Comprehensive waste management and recycling systems

  • Litter picking teams active throughout and post-event

  • Structured breakdown and full site reinstatement

  • Noise management in line with agreed licensing conditions

We are also open to offering volunteer support to local council-led litter picking initiatives in the surrounding areas following the event.

Charity Partnerships

For this year’s event, we are proud to be working in partnership with:

  • Doorway Wiltshire Ltd

  • HEALS of Malmesbury

We are exploring ways to support both organisations through awareness, fundraising initiatives and direct contributions.

Clear Communication

We are committed to:

  • Providing advance notice of event timings

  • Sharing traffic management plans

  • Offering a clear contact point for local enquiries

  • Listening to feedback

Building a Positive Long-Term Relationship

GemFest is not a one-off operation with no local ties. We intend to build a sustainable, respectful relationship with Malmesbury and the surrounding communities.

Our goal is simple: To host a safe, professionally managed festival that brings energy and economic benefit to the area - while preserving the beauty, tranquillity and integrity of Charlton Park Estate.
